AWARDS AND FELLOWSHIPS

ESBS Award Rules

Objective
The ESBS Award is awarded to residents in recognition of their outstanding paper in the field of cranial base pathology in the hope that they will be encouraged to continue their contribution to this field.

Field
The Award will be given to a resident, who presents a poster, paper on clinical or basic science research related to the field of cranial base pathology.

Eligibility
Any resident in the above fields, younger than 35 years are eligible for nomination.

Criteria
The abstract should be:
Original
Valid
Pertinent
Clear

Nomination Procedure
An individual should nominate himself / herself by ticking the ESBS Award nomination box at the online abstract submission pages (page Award nomination).
A candidate can be nominated by his/her department/institution.
Winners are selected without respect of nationality or discipline.
The Congress President and Congress Scientific Committee select the nominees.

In the ESBS Award Committee (EAC) are:
ESBS President and one ESBS Executive Committee member.
The EAC selects three winners (poster, clinical, basic science research) from among the nominees.
The ESBS President formally announces the winners during the Congress.

Award
To be determined by the Executive Committee.

ESBS Fellowship Rules


Objective
The ESBS Fellowship is awarded to young specialists or senior residents in their last year of training (ORL, Neurosurgery, Maxillofacial surgery) in order to support further education or research in the field of cranial base
pathology and to encourage continuation of their contribution to this field.

Field
The Fellowship will be given to a young specialists or senior residents in their last year of training following a Fellowship or Training Program related to cranial base pathology.

Eligibility
Any young specialist or senior resident in their last year of training in the above fields, younger than 45 years is eligible for nomination. Presence at the ESBS Congress is mandatory and active participation with oral or poster presentation is highly recommended.

Candidate’s profile:
Will complete in the coming year or have satisfactorily completed an approved training programme in ORL, Neurosurgery or Maxillofacial surgery.
Must be working in a recognized training institution with staff in ORL, Neurosurgery, Maxillofacial surgery and Neuroradiology.
Must provide a written statement of support of his/her Program Co-ordinator.
 
Nomination Procedure
An individual should nominate himself / herself by ticking the ESBS Fellowship nomination box at the online registration pages (page Registration Details). The applicants should also send a CV, a list of publications, an invitation of the Head of the hosting-Skull Base Center and a working program to info@esbs2009.eu.
A candidate can be nominated by his/her department/institution.
Winners are selected without respect of nationality or discipline.
The Congress President and Congress Scientific Committee select the nominees.

In the ESBS Fellowship Committee (EFC) are: 
ESBS President, General Secretary and one Executive Committee member.
The EFC selects two winners preferably of different disciplines from among the nominees.
The ESBS President formally announces the winners during the Congress.
